JANUARY

The IIDA NE Communications team sourced the design community to feature an untold story behind the design of The Record Co.

"Since TRC opened it has been at capacity with musicians creating fabulous music night and day. The end result was a space that looks like I never could have imagined, and yet exactly what I imagined! Time and time again we hear from musicians that they love the space, that it feels like home, and that they feel like they belong. The key was inclusion. Everyone was heard - the space is about them and created with them." by Felice Silverman [Principal] of STA Design

SEPTEMBER

The IIDA NE Communications team sourced the design community to feature a story behind the design of custom light fixtures at Baleia Restaurant

"Inspired by fishing nets, oyster pearls and copper cookware, YGD worked with RODE to create a dynamic ceiling sculpture for Baleia that is located above the golden velvet banquettes. Built from individual ball chain strands in a rose gold finish, the sculpture suspends from seven separate rings in varying heights, with the longest net measuring over 10’-0” tall. This jaw-dropping installation is the highlight of Baleia’s Instagram and goes beyond a light feature–it draws guests in, creates conversations, tells a story and weaves the restaurant’s narrative together with the other design elements." by Ryan Tirell [Allied ASID, Interior Designer] of Lavallee Brensinger Architects
