IIDA New England,
On behalf of the entire IIDA New England Chapter and Board of Directors, I want to extend my deepest and most enthusiastic thanks for your continued partnership and generous support. You are the foundation that allows our chapter to thrive. Your sponsorship makes it possible for us to deliver meaningful programming, impactful advocacy, and engaging events throughout the year. Every connection made, every conversation sparked, and every step forward for our profession is fueled by your dedication to what we do.
Because of your support, IIDA New England has experienced an incredible year of progress, creativity, and community. Our Advocacy team has made great strides in advancing interior design legislation in Massachusetts, continuing the important work of protecting and elevating the profession. Over the course of a year, we have engaged in pivotal conversations with AIA Massachusetts about interior design licensure. After engaging work sessions, panels, and clear lines of communication, I could not be more proud to say we now have the full support of AIA MA. In October, during the 2025 Day on the Hill at the Massachusetts State House, for the first time in decades, AIA MA was not there to oppose us, they were there to support us. They attended meetings with legislators supporting the bill and advocated for us and with us. This collaboration is a huge milestone that took the dedication of our entire community to get where we are now.
We are also thrilled to share that we are moving forward with plans to file a bill in Rhode Island, expanding our reach and impact throughout the region. These milestones reflect not only the dedication of our volunteers, but the strong network of sponsors and supporters who make our advocacy efforts possible.
This past year has also been full of vibrant moments that remind us why our design community is so special. Our signature events — the Design Awards, Fashion Show, Block Party, and Croquet— brought people together to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and the spirit of design. Each of these gatherings was a reflection of the passion, talent, and energy that define IIDA New England. We have also deepened our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, expanding our initiatives to ensure every voice has a place at the table. Through K–12 outreach, we are introducing young students to the world of design and inspiring the next generation of creative thinkers. At the same time, we continue to grow our educational programming and professional development offerings to help our members learn, connect, and thrive.
My personal journey with this organization began as a student when I participated as a model in the Fashion Show. From there, I joined the Fashion Show Committee, then had the honor of serving as Co-Chair, before joining the Board as Vice President of Advocacy. Today, I am proud to serve as Chapter President. Each role has given me new opportunities to learn, lead, and build relationships that have truly been pivotal to my career. IIDA has not only strengthened my professional path but also given me lifelong friends, mentors, and an incredible sense of community.
As we look ahead, I invite you to stay deeply engaged with all that IIDA New England offers. Attend our events, connect with our members, take advantage of our learning programs, and continue to make the most of this extraordinary network. The more you participate, the more you will feel the power and purpose of this community. Together, we can continue to elevate interior design and inspire positive change in the built environment across New England.
