JOB DESCRIPTION
Cosentini Associates (www.cosentini.com), a Tetra Tech company, is adding a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to our Plumbing and Fire Protection team based in New York.
YOUR ROLE
Develop and evaluate system concepts and options to determine best design and engineering solution for each project based upon project scope
Develop design drawings and specifications of plumbing and fire protection systems for high-rise residential, hotel, performing arts and office buildings including preparation of all engineering calculations, equipment selection and layout throughout life of the project
Lead and coordinate with engineers, designers, technicians and clerical staff
Interface with clients and architects to discuss changes to designs and/or specifications
Work with leadership to manage design people power budget and update budget to reflect revisions or changes in scope
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns
Additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
7+ years of plumbing and fire protection design and management experience
Comprehensive knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards • Strong technical skills, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Project and client relationship management experience is preferred
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
PE registration is preferred
Willingness and ability to travel as needed
