MEMBERSHIP LEVELS
PROFESSIONAL
Professional Members are actively engaged in the profession of interior design or design education. Applicants for Professional Membership must meet one of the following groups of standards:
Group 1 - Practicing Interior Design Professionals
Proof of certification date (or test results) by NCIDQ - no other exams are accepted.
Group 2 - Architects
Proof of either state architectural registration or documentation of successful completion of NCARB exam, and Documentation (resume or current job description, with dates, acceptable) of minimum of six years practice experience in interior design above and beyond those areas tested by the NCARB exam.
ASSOCIATE
Associate Members are actively engaged in the profession. Applicants for Associate Membership must meet the education requirements of the NCIDQ exam or equivalent (a two-year certificate in interior design or equivalent educational credits), but have not completed the exam. To qualify, you must provide an official college transcript or diploma (photocopies are acceptable).
AFFILIATE
Members are actively engaged in a field of expertise that is directly related to the interior design industry (lighting designers, architects not practicing interior design, photographers, etc.). Please include business card.
IIDA Industry Membership offers you a tremendous networking opportunity to promote your product or service to IIDA’s Membership, which includes approximately 5,000 design professionals in over 30 Chapters worldwide. We offer Membership for one person (Industry Individual) or for your company at the $900, $3,500, $5,000, or $7,500 levels. Dues contribute to ongoing IIDA programs that facilitate development of IIDA Members through knowledge and are designed to advance the profession—like Industry Roundtable, Principle’s Roundtable, competitions and the Chapter Leadership Council.
Custom is targeted to our Student Members and highlights the learning environment and achievements in design education. Educators contribute informative articles envisioning the future of the design job market, unexplored fields, and emphasize learning. Custom also offers students the unique opportunity to be heard in the Association by writting articles and submitting original projects. Membership for Student Members is based on the academic year, September--August.
