ABOUT IIDA NEW ENGLAND

The IIDA New England Chapter is an association of members committed to the interior design profession and the New England region. Our mission is to assist in developing the skills of our members, increase professional and educational opportunities, and help build a strong professional network that can serve their careers today and for many years to come. We endeavor to make New England a better place in which to live and work through community service and philanthropic donations. This presence in our communities furthers our efforts to raise awareness of the value of interior design to the general public. The Chapter actively supports financial awards to our student members to encourage the pursuit of their education in the field of interior design.

The Chapter is governed by elected officers serving on the Executive Board and the Council of Directors. We have active “City Centers” located in Boston, Providence, Hartford, CT and Stamford, CT.. The City Centers work to provide continuing education opportunities for members, philanthropic programs within local communities, and professional networking events. Annual Chapter events provide forums for our members to showcase their work and engage with peers and industry colleagues. The Leaders Breakfast takes place in the spring and invites the New England interior design community to discuss relevant and pressing business issues facing our communities and our clients. The IIDA NE Design Awards annually recognize the exceptional talent of our members, their firms, and their project teams. Interior Design Boston is a celebration of the creativity of our community whereby designers can express themselves through a different medium of design: fashion! This annual fall fashion show pairs design firms with industry partners to experience collaboration, creativity, and competition.

The IIDA New England Chapter succeeds when we focus our abilities on providing outstanding services to members while simultaneously contributing to the broader professional community. The IIDA New England Executive Board is committed to adding value to the careers of our members while thinking beyond the cutting edge. We challenge our membership to serve the profession, question established paradigms, and promote the health, safety, and welfare of the communities in which we live. Our volunteer leaders prove the value of membership by organizing and hosting exceptional events that support IIDA New England’s professional, associate, student, and industry partner members. We actively work to recruit new members to join our efforts and invite all to attend our numerous events throughout New England.

Diversity brings with it a wealth of knowledge and experience. Together the leaders and volunteers of IIDA New England set the standard of good design and professionalism for our Chapter, our communities, and our region.
